Tharuna Devchand is a multi-faceted creative who has over 13 years of experience in various sectors of the Media industry including journalism, TV and film, advertising and tertiary education. She specialises in writing and video editing. In 2022, she joined the International Class film course at Filmakademie Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany for five months.
As the former National Programme Head of the new Creative Writing school at AFDA, Tharuna played a crucial role in the development and planning of the curriculum for the new 3 year degree, which covered screenwriting (film, series and entertainment formats), playwriting, advertising and other fiction and factual narrative formats.
Tharuna’s mission is to empower and inspire the next generation of creatives, and to foster a culture of excellence and innovation in the field.
